High-Quality Health Care
OSF HealthCare Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, Illinois, celebrated the dedication of its expanded emergency department (ED) on April 7. The ED, previously 2,000 square feet with four patient rooms, now spans over 10,000 square feet with 10 patient rooms, a triage area, behavioral health room, decontamination space, and a new ambulance bay.
The dedication event acknowledged the vital support of the local community and the contributions of dedicated donors like Linda Murray, inspired by her mother’s legacy as an ED nurse. Michelle Reyburn, whose family experienced exceptional care at OSF Holy Family, emphasized the new ED’s positive impact on the community.
The project embodies OSF HealthCare’s commitment to serving rural communities, reflecting their mission of providing compassionate care in the spirit of Christ and Francis of Assisi. It showcases the strength of rural communities uniting to ensure outstanding healthcare services.

Last-dollar Grant Program
The Walter and Rose Sampson Promise is built on the belief that education is the key to achieving dreams and changing lives. It was established by a generous gift from Walter and Rose Sampson in collaboration with the Pattee Foundation, Twomey Foundation, United School District Foundation, Monmouth-Roseville Foundation, and many others.
Walter and Rose Sampson Promise will pay up to 16 credits of tuition per semester, up to a maximum of 64 credits for post-secondary education toward a degree or certificate from Carl Sandburg College. It is a last-dollar grant, which means that the student must apply for federal and state financial aid as well as other scholarships. The Walter and Rose Sampson Promise will provide the remainder of tuition after other financial aid, according to an arranged percentage based on the number of years of qualifying attendance.
Monmouth is served by two school districts; Monmouth-Roseville CUSD #238 and United CUSD #304. Together these two districts cover 542 square miles of Warren County and serve 2,447 preschool through twelfth-grade students.
