Monmouth College will honor alumnus Brig. Gen. Chris Lawson ’88 with an induction into the Hall of Achievement during Homecoming weekend on October 6. Lawson, a military leader, credits Monmouth for his success, emphasizing the skills gained in writing, speaking, and analysis.
As part of the “Band of Brothers” alongside his Monmouth alumni siblings, Lawson began his military journey during college. Retiring from the Illinois Army National Guard, he served in various leadership roles, contributing to operations in Bolivia, Germany, Poland, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
Recognized for innovation and leadership, Lawson’s distinguished career culminated as vice director J5 for the National Guard Bureau in Washington, D.C.
